Garrett Career Development Program Receives Remote T62 Bobcat Skidloader

Thanks to the Olive B. Cole Foundation, Fort Wayne Bobcat, and Brooks Construction Co., Inc. the Garrett Career Development Program now has its own Remote T62 Bobcat Skidloader.  Below are photos of the skidloader and a message from Corey Schoon, Director of the Career Development Program at Garrett High School.

“with the support of the Olive B Cole Foundation, Fort Wayne Bobcat, and Brooks Construction Co., Inc. the Garrett Career Development Program has received its own Remote T62 Bobcat Skidloader.  This unit arrived on-site a month ago and was quickly put to work on the job site prepping for concrete.  The remote capabilities allow for students with physical disabilities to participate in the heavy equipment curriculum, creating an all-inclusive classroom. The middle school program has even had a crack at remote operations of the machine; nowhere else are 5th graders running heavy equipment.  In the coming months, Fort Wayne Bobcat and Garrett will team up once again as the first Implement Day will take place.  Students will learn the safe operations of a variety of skid loader attachments that Bobcat has to offer.” – Corey Schoon
