Better Infrastructure.

At Work IN Roads, we are committed to fostering a brighter future for our communities. We believe we can do that by supporting the constant needs of companies with a pipeline of talent filled with the next generation of skilled trades as well as professional services.
What We Do
Work IN Roads is a collaborative initiative between government agencies, associations, and businesses aimed at supporting those who work in building our state’s infrastructure. We work with schools and educators to help inform Hoosier students about the diverse career paths available in the construction industry. The Work IN Roads Foundation is focused on funding efforts to increase awareness, provide resources and connect students to employers.

Key Initiatives
Bridging the Resource Gap
Many schools lack the necessary equipment and tools for modern education. Labs often house outdated materials from as far back as 1971, and training resources are scarce. Our funds help modernize these facilities and provide up-to-date training materials.
Expanding Educational Focus
The current education system heavily emphasizes residential construction and stick-built homes, neglecting the civil construction sector. While heavy construction is a favorite among students, our programs aim to balance this focus, exposing students to the breadth of opportunities within commercial construction.
Scholarship Program
Funds from the foundation also go to our scholarship program which supports students who have successfully completed the Work IN Roads program, offering them the financial assistance needed to pursue further education and training.
Support for Educators
Educators need infrastructure, too, so we pay teachers for their time spent in professional development training. We also provide in-class teaching resources and maintain relationships beyond the training sessions to make sure our programs are optimized for the best experience. Supporting the foundation helps pay for this critical professional development.
