Women IN Roads Camps

PROGRAM

Welcome to the Women IN Roads 2026 Summer Camp – happening June 2026 in two locations!

This isn’t your average summer camp. It’s a hands-on, action-packed experience created by women, for future women leaders in civil construction.

Designed for high school freshmen and sophomores, this two-day adventure is your all-access pass to explore the world of heavy highway construction. Think big machines, real job sites and exciting career possibilities you might not have imagined (yet!).

You’ll get to:

• Roll up your sleeves and dive into hands-on activities.

• Learn from women professionals who’ve been exactly where you are.

• Experience the industry through tours, demos, discussions and mentorship.

• Get inspired and see how you can shape the roads, bridges and communities of tomorrow.

Plus, a teacher from the Work IN Roads school network will be on-site to help with everything from drop-off and pick-up to transportation and safety on our jobsite tours.

If you’re curious, creative, and ready to discover a whole new side of what your future could look like, this is your moment.

CAMP FEES

There is no fee for this camp, which includes breakfast and lunch each day, class materials, personal protective equipment and transportation to/from the classroom to jobsites.

WHAT TO BRING/WEAR

As many of the activities simulate real-world construction experiences, with safety being the chief concern, participants must wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Short-sleeve shirts are acceptable; however, please bring and use sunscreen appropriately. The camp and its sponsors will provide personal protective equipment (PPE) in the form of a hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses and gloves. Participants are expected to wear PPE as requested during activities and on jobsites each day, so if campers take their PPE home the first night, they should bring it back the next day. Please bring a copy of a valid insurance card and any medications the camper requires throughout the day and indicate on the registration form if there are special requirements for the use of that medication.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

Please do not bring valuables, alcohol, tobacco products (including vape pens), drugs or weapons of any kind to camp.

EXPECTATIONS

Camp participants and their families must download and complete a camp Code of Conduct, Permission Form and Waiver of Liability. This document should be emailed to Women IN Roads prior to the start of camp or printed and presented at camper drop-off on Thursday. No camper will be allowed to participate without this signed document on file. Women IN Roads has gone to considerable effort to create an fun, safe camp for young women to explore construction careers, and it is expected that campers will follow the Code of Conduct. Any campers violating the Code of Conduct will be asked to leave immediately.

SPONSORSHIPS

To help offset the costs of hosting this camp in two locations, we’re offering sponsorship opportunities. Meeting sponsors will be recognized in all digital, social and print promotions and on-site camp materials. Sponsorships include one seat for the Lunch & Learn on Thursday.
